PAINT FOR FLOOR TILES AND SHOWER ENCLOSURES is a two-component, water-based polyurethane resin system designed for the restoration and protection of various types of indoor ceramic surfaces. It provides effective protection against moisture and dirt, making it ideal for shower enclosure walls and floors exposed to moisture and frequent soiling. It offers excellent coverage, while its satin finish gives tiles an elegant, modern look. The paint creates an easy-to-clean coating that is resistant to neutral detergents, cleaning agents, grease, and other types of dirt. It is suitable for use on ceramic tiles, stoneware tiles, clinker, terracotta, sandstone, gypsum tiles, and decorative trim. Easy to apply, it results in a smooth surface with an outstanding decorative effect. It is ideal for refurbishing wall tiles in bathrooms and other areas prone to moisture.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
› The surface to be painted must be dry, clean, and free of grease. Before painting, it is essential to remove all dirt, grease stains, deposits, and salt efflorescence.
› Fill any voids or cracks in the grout or tiles with a suitable repair compound; once dry, sand the area thoroughly with sandpaper.
› Remove any silicone joints or sealants and reapply them after the paint has dried.
› Before painting, thoroughly clean and degrease the surface of the tiles and grout using appropriate cleaning agents, then rinse well with water and allow to dry.
› To ensure proper paint adhesion, sand the tiles and grout with fine-grit sandpaper and remove any dust. In areas frequently exposed to water, the use of a suitable primer is recommended.
› To ensure proper paint adhesion, sand the dried surface with fine-grit sandpaper and remove any dust before applying the next coat.
APPLICATION:
› Immediately before painting, add Component B to Component A and mix thoroughly until a uniform mixture is obtained. Note: The prepared paint (the mixture of Components A and B) must be used within 2 hours. › Apply the first coat of paint to the prepared surface using a velour roller, smoothing it out carefully until an even layer is achieved, and allow the coating to dry.
› The drying (curing) time for the coating is approximately 8 hours, depending on the conditions at the application site (temperature and humidity).
› Once the first coat has dried, apply a second coat in the same manner. Note: Use a freshly prepared batch of paint (components A+B) for the second coat.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
› Use personal protective equipment when mixing and applying the paint.
› Do not dilute either component A or component B.
› Optimal application conditions: temperature between +10°C and +30°C, and relative humidity below 70%.
› The coating develops initial mechanical resistance after 24 hours. It reaches full mechanical and chemical resistance after 15 days; until then, do not clean the painted surface and protect it from water, dirt, and mechanical damage.
› Use mild cleaning agents to maintain the painted surface. Do not use abrasive sponges. › Immediately after painting, wash the tools with water and a cleaning agent.
› After mixing components A and B, the container may open suddenly and forcefully. Do not store the mixture in a sealed container.
COVERAGE:
› Up to 12 m²/l, depending on the type of substrate and the application method. Coverage is indicated for a single coat.
NUMBER OF COATS:
› 2 to 3 coats, depending on the type of substrate and the desired effect.
