What to consider to make the wall paint perfect?

Perfect wall relief

One of the prerequisites for obtaining a perfectly smooth wall paint without defects is wall treatment and smoothing before painting. Professional masters definitely do not do it with sandpaper, because it wears out over time and does not ensure even sanding, instead it is best to use a sander. Using a sander will ensure even sanding, make the process easier, and make it much easier to sand larger roughnesses. As for the grinding direction, it is recommended to do it vertically from top to bottom first, but then the smoothness can be adjusted by grinding in the horizontal direction.

Smooth off

Painting the walls definitely does not need to be in a hurry, and the wall must be carefully prepared for this process, so it is also necessary to fill all holes and roughness. For this purpose, a primer of as similar a color as possible should be used so that it does not shine through the wall paint. Darker walls use a darker primer, but lighter ones use something closer. When leveling the wall relief, it is important to take into account that the primer should be applied several times, and it should not be applied not only in the specific area, but also spread over a larger area in order to even out the smoothness.

Highlight a painting area

No matter how much you want to rely on your accuracy, it is not recommended to paint the walls before covering the edges, moldings and other places where it is not necessary to stain with paint. In such situations, it is best to limit the edges and other areas with adhesive tape of the opposite color as the desired wall color, such as light blue, so that these areas stand out better and are easily visible.

Preparatory works

Don’t forget about the preparations, which include covering the floor with film, newspapers or something else, as well as covering the furniture and some objects in the room, so that nothing is accidentally painted. At the bottom of the paint can definitely leave more newspapers or even a tray to have a greater sense of security.

Roller rinse

It is important to rinse the paint roller thoroughly not only after painting the wall, but also before. New rolls tend to be fluffy at first, so be sure to not only rinse them before use, but also wash them with liquid soap and then dry them. The same applies to brushes, it is recommended to wash them beforehand, regardless of whether they are new or used brushes.

Use a bathtub

In the process of painting the walls, special paint baths are a must, which will make this process easier and provide a better end result. The paint bath should be poured in small amounts of paint, if it will be poured a lot, then the paint can harden before it is used. With the roller it is necessary to level the paint on a special surface in the bath beforehand, so that the roller is covered with a matte surface. This will ensure an even paint coverage.

The order of painting

It is important to observe not only the use of paint, but also laying on the wall. It is recommended to start it from the corners and edges. A flat brush should be used in these areas to allow access to the narrowest areas. Once these areas have been painted, use a paint roller and paint the large area by first forming the cross bands at an angle, and then smoothing the painting with horizontal and vertical movements.
