How to prepare the room for painting?

Unless the room has been occupied before, then this work is simpler – all you have to do is cover the floor, window sill with protective film and you can paint, but in a room with furniture, carpets and other things, will be more difficult to start painting. First, remove mirrors, paintings, photo frames, decors, hangers, and other accessories from the walls. If there are screws or other fasteners on the walls, remove them, so that there are not area not covered with paint remains.

Next comes the most difficult thing – moving the furniture. If there’s another room next door to put it all together, that’s great, but if not, then you have to deal with what is and move the furniture as compactly as possible. It is best to push the furniture to the middle of the room to allow free access to the walls. Make sure that the furniture does not obscure the light after the move and that the wall is not poorly visible and that no shadows form anywhere. When painting, it is important to see where the paint is already covered enough, where it is still too little.

When furniture is moved, it is essential to cover it with protective film. Even if you seem to be careful and know how not to paint the surfaces with paint, it is better not to risk and use the film. And you should pay attention to it even if you entrust the painting to a master – make sure that everything will be covered before painting. In addition, it is important to cover not only furniture, but also windowsills, carpets, lamps and other things where paint smears are not desirable.

Even if the windows seem far enough away from the wall to be painted and everything will be done carefully, blinds and curtains must be removed and the windowsill covered with a protective film.

If there is a carpet on the floor, vacuum it thoroughly before covering it with a protective film, otherwise dust will rise after the film is removed and the walls that have not yet dried may become dusty. Also clean other floor coverings from dry debris beforehand to avoid situations where the wind blows dust or debris onto the fresh paint.

Take care in advance of where to put the paint cans, brushes and the bath with a roller. If on the floor, there must be a film, but it is desirable to spread layers of newspapers above it. It will be more convenient if you use a bench or chair so that you do not have to bend so low. Also in this case, make sure that the chair does not suffer from accidental paint stains.

No less important is the timely provision of all tools . As far as paint is concerned, it is always better to have a larger quantity so that the painting process does not lead to a situation where the paint is too little. You should have paper napkins on hand, in case you are soiled yourself, a cloth, also paper tape, to cover the borders for painting.
